Founder & Managing Director

Martin Yupangco has over 30 years of international consulting experience specializing in business intelligence, investment research, analysis, competitor & market insight, international strategy, government, regulatory & public affairs and stakeholder management services to clients with investing activities throughout Asia.

Mr. Yupangco is also the Founder & Managing Director of Investor Resources Counselors, an investment advisory & risk management firm focused on deal origination, identification, structuring, asset management, exit strategies and alternative funding solutions.

Before launching his two investment advisory and strategy consulting firms, Mr. Yupangco was based in Hong Kong as Director and Head of Research for Elliott Investment Management, a private New York-headquartered activist investment fund with over US$56 billion AUM focusing on a multi-strategy trading program that encompasses a broad range of strategies, including performing debt, distressed securities, hedge/ arbitrage positions (including event arbitrage, related securities arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, commodities trading and fixed income arbitrage), equity-oriented positions, basis-trading, portfolio volatility protection positions, and real estate-related securities positions.

Prior to this, he served as a Director of Alvarez & Marsal’s Singapore office and leader of its Southeast Asian Dispute Analysis & Forensics practice. He has also held the positions of Vice President & USA Country Manager for International Risk (now FTI Consulting), Managing Director and Head of Investigations and Business Intelligence for Kroll Associates (Hong Kong, Singapore and New York) and Regional Representative for ORC, Inc. (now Mercer Consulting).

Mr. Yupangco previously served as a director of the New York & London based litigation fund & legal capital solutions provider Bench Walk Advisors, LLC and as Regional Advisor for the New York- & Delaware- based Grant & Eisenhofer and Philadelphia-based Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, two of the most prominent securities class action and plaintiff advocacy firms in the world.

Mr. Yupangco holds a MSc. in International Operations Management from the Arthur D. Little School of Management (Cambridge, MA) and a BA in Business and Government from Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY).
